The value of production from steel complexes in Mexico decreased 17.1 percent, year-over-year, in February, the seventh consecutive year-on-year drop with a value of MXN 13,050 million ($705 million).
The figure also ranks as the lowest in the last 24 months, according to a SteelOrbis analysis of data from the national agency of Inegi statistics.
The steel complexes include the primary casting of iron, steel, finished steel products such as tubes, hot rolled coils
(HRC), cold rolled coils (CRC), steel structures, commercial sections, wire rod, bars, among others. The information from Inegi is in nominal pesos, which includes the price variation due to inflation.
